Dear MTNT Shareholders,
I hope this message finds you well, and enjoying the spoils of a successful hunt. Fall is one of my favorite times back home. I wanted to make it out, but was unfortunately waylaid by national subsistence matters with Sturgeon pending in the U.S. Supreme Court again.
It was good to see many of you at the 2018 Annual Meeting in McGrath earlier this June. Thanks for engaging in the corporation’s business affairs, whether it was in person or by proxy. Thanks also to the MTNT, Ltd. employees who went above and beyond to make the meeting a success.
Three directors were elected during the Annual Meeting, including Claude “Joe” Petruska of Nikolai for the Mandatory Nikolai seat; Gina McKindy of McGrath for one of the At-Large seats; and me for the other At-Large seat. Following the meeting, the Board of Directors elected the following officers:
- Nicole Borromeo, Chair
- Melody Magnuson-Strick, President
- Joseph Frank, Secretary/Treasurer
Please join me in thanking all of the candidates for running in this year’s election, and congratulating our newly elected Board members. Thanks also to Joe Frank for serving as the Chairman of the Board, and to Jacqueline Esai and Charles Akers for serving as Directors.
I look forward to seeing many of you at the 2018 Annual Convention of the Alaska Federation of Natives, October 18-20, in Anchorage; and to serving as your MTNT Board of Director Chair for the next year.
